4185. A RARE EARLY IRANIAN ASKOS, ca. 1200-800 BC. The animal-form vessel with flattened oval body and four legs, tail and two leg-like appendages at the front, the pinched pouring rim mimicing and animal's head, the body marked with longitudinal press marks surrounded by patterns of point impressions. 5 x 6 x 7.5 inches. Chips or repair to handle, one leg and one front appendage. Rare.



4186. A FINE SCYTHIAN BONE WOLF HEAD, ca. 5th century BC. Made of the wide end of a boar's tusk, objects of this type have been used as the tip of a bow or to decorate a sword scabbard. 1.1 x 2.25 inches. Cf. for a similar example 'Scythian Gold' by Ellen Reeder, 1999, cat.# 12.



4187. A SYRO-PHOENICIAN LEAD WEIGHT OR AMULET, ca. mid 1st millennium BC. Incuse rectangle with triangular baetyl like device inside. 1.8 inches. Rare and deserving of further research.



4188. A VERY RARE LARGE HOLY LAND EARLY BRONZE AGE BOWL, ca. 3rd millennium BC. The large thin-walled bowl of hemispheric form with flattened base and turned out rim, a band of numerous vertical incised hatch marks around the neck. 8 x 14 inches. Small line from rim, otherwise intact. To find such very early large Holy Land pottery in an intact condition is extremely rare.



4189. A RARE LARGE HOLY LAND EARLY BRONZE AGE BOWL, ca. 3rd millennium BC. The large thin-walled bowl of hemispheric form with flattened base and turned out rim, a band of numerous incised hatch marks around the neck. 6.75 x 10.5 inches. Intact. To find such very early large Holy Land pottery in an intact condition is extremely rare.



4190. A HOLY LAND EARLY BRONZE AGE BOWL, ca. 3rd millennium BC. The redware bowl of hemispheric form with flattened base, two small tab handles and two sets of six small knob projections on the shoulder. 4 x 7 inches. Some surface abrasion primarily to the interior, otherwise intact. Rare.



4191. A RARE EARLY BRONZE AGE INCISED CUP Syria or Holy Land, ca. 3rd millennium BC. The single handled cup with horned extension of handle above the rim, four bands of raised dots and a band of incised design around the body. 4.5 x 4.5 inches. A rare type deserving of further study. Intact.

4201. A LARGE CANAANITE STORAGE AMPHORA. Holy Land, Middle Bronze Age, ca. 2200-1550 BC. The large amphora with twin heavy ring handles on the shoulder and reinforced rim. 14.5 x 21 inches. Intact with calcified surface deposits attesting authenticity. On custom stand. Extremely rare.

4203. A HOLY LAND BRONZE AGE JUG. Middle Bronze, 2200-1550 BC. The vessel with cylindrical body and thin neck with single strap handle, remains of vertical painted bands. 3.75 x 5.5 inches. Cracks in body and in need of repair.

4205. AN IMPORTANT HOLY LAND TORCH HOLDER, ca. 2nd millennium BC. The vessel with wide base and tall conical chamber with ring handle on the side, decorated with bands of red. 6 x 8.5 inches. Intact. The exact fuction of these rare artifacts is uncertain. They would have sat stably with the broad part down, however since there are soot deposits only on the interior of the broad end, one might assume they were lamps or torchiers designed to be slipped over support poles with the oil and wick contained in the broad concave bowl which has a central chamber with small wick? hole with soot deposits around it. Extremely rare. Intact. Likely for temple or palace use. Any additional information or references appreciated.

A VERY RARE HOLY LAND CYPRIOT STYLE OINOCHOE, ca. 1200-900 BC. the sperical vessel with ring base, high neck and pinched pouring spout, Cypriot style bull's eye spirals on the sides. 7.5 x 10.5 inches. Some abrasion of surface one side. Of Cypriot style but made in the Holy Land. Extremely rare thus.
