7402. AN AMARNA PERIOD WOODEN FOOT. Amarna or near Amarna, c. 14th century BC. Human foot carved in an exceedingly delicate manner with long gracile toes with finely defined toenails, remains of pink pigment on the surface, drilled tenon for insertion into a large piece at back. 3 inches. 7469. AN IMPORTANT POLYCHROME WOOD FIGURE OF PTAH-SOKER-OSIRIS, Dynasty XXV, 747-656 BC. The mummiform diety standing on a rectangular base with Horus falcon facing him, and wearing a broad colar in white ornamented with numerous alternating red and blue bands, curled pharonic beard and tripartite wig, and atef crown composed of plumes and sun disk, lines of heiroglyphic inscriptions down the front and down the back pillar. 12 x 26 x 7.5 inches. Intact original condition with no repainting or repair. $30,000 estimate.

7470. AN IMPORTANT LARGE GESSO-PAINTED WOOD STATUE OF AN OFFICIAL. Egyptian, c. 2nd millennium BC. The standing nude male figure with much remaining yellow painted gesso on the body, the hair and eyes painted with black and white, the separately carved arms and legs attached to the body with tenons (legs are detachable), flat tenons on the feet for attachment to a base. 16 inches in height. 7471. AN IMPORTANT AMARNA OR NEAR AMARNA GESSO PAINTED WOOD FIGURE. Egyptian, c. 14th century BC. The standing kilted male figure carved with the typical Amarna elongate neck and head, with much remains of white, pink and black painted gesso on the body, the separately carved base attached to the feet with pegged tenons. 9.5 inches in height. Breaks at legs (midsections are separate and poorly aligned in the photo) in need of professional repair but otherwise complete and in excellent condition. $65,000 estimate.

7551. AN IMPORTANT EGYPTIAN MOSAIC GLASS FISH, c. 18th Dynasty, 1550-1295 BC. Similar examples are known from royal tombs of this period including one from the tomb of Tutankhamun. See for example Archaeological Odyssey Magazine, Nov./Dec. 1999, p. 8 for an image of a wonderful example now in the British Museum (incorrectly described as 'brightly painted' it is in fact composed of mosaic glass as is the present example). Opaque white glass with black stripes, azure eye with yellow iris ringed with black and a central black pupil. 27 mm. An extremely rare and early example of mosaic glass work. 7398. AN IMPORTANT EGYPTIAN FAIENCE AND IVORY WITH HIEROGLYPH CARTOUCHE OF RAMSES THE GREAT, 1279-1213 BC. The faience object of square cross section with beveled corners, the four sides covered with clear cartouches with hieroglyphs, including that of Rameses II, caped at each end with ivory mounts and mounted on an original wooded dowel. 1.25 x 3.25 inches. Repaired from large fragments. Of uncertain function, any information on function or additional translation appreciated. Rameses II (c. 1279-1212 BC), is often regarded as ancient Egypt's greatest and most powerful pharaoh. He is traditionally regarded as the pharaoh of the Exodus, with whom Moses interacted. Of quadrangular form with tapering feet and handles, the body glazed in yellow, turquoise and black with triangular motifs, the handles pierced for attachment of a lid. 7556. AN EXCEPTIONAL PHOENICIAN BILBIL, ca. 1300-1200 BC. An excellent example of the finest bronze age pottery, this piece would have been used for pouring or serving liquids perhaps wine. Grey ware of elegant form with bulbous body and tall neck, it has circular line relief design, doubly incised strap handle, flared rim and footed base. A larger and much finer example than is normally available. Choice condition with traces of ancient soil adhering. Height: 28.5 cm. (11.2"). Weight: ~0.4 kg. (~1 lb.) $4000 estimate.
