10112. AN ORDOS ANIMAL STYLE BELT BUCKLE. Mongolia, c. 6th - 2nd century BC. The bronze buckle in the form of a crouching feline with head reverted and tail curled over its body, a long hook for fastening the belt at one end, a brass button-like knob on the reverse for attachment to the leather of the belt. 4 inches. A nice example with some encrustation attesting to its authenticity, and a nice jade-like green patina. Provenance: The estate of a New York City collector. $350 estimate.

10081. A FINE MEIJI BRONZE FLOOR LAMP. Japan, Meiji Period, c. late 19th century. A large and substantial bronze floor lamp ornamented with numerous very high profile birds, flowers and a dragon. The lamp as originally made with separate lift out kerosene or oil container with 3 controls and wire support for glass lampshade. This lamp includes a mid 20th century insert for an electric light bulb and a small fitting shade which can be easily removed if desired. The only alteration is a 1/4 inch hole in the original thin brass grid where the electric cord exits. 10.5 inches by 4 feet tall. 20 lb.. Otherwise in excellent condition. The stele in the form of a temple with a scene from the life of Buddha who is standing surrounded by seven other figures within the main temple alcove. He is also shown seated in meditation in the frieze above surrounded by four supplicants, two of whom give offerings while the others bow in supplication. 2.25 x 9.75 x 11.5 inches.
