11425. HEAD OF A BUDDHIST PRINCE. India, c. 10th-11th century AD. Large carved limestone head of a Buddhist prince, his hair drawn up into a Buddhist unisha topknot and wearing the wide mustache of a noble, a pearl or gold bead diadem with large central ornament on his forehead. 17 x 9 x 8 inches. 50 lbs. All original with no repair or restoration, a couple of small scrapes. On a strong custom black steel stand.

Provenance: The property of a European gentleman.

6980. A FINE BACTRIAN SEAL OR MOLD, ca. 1st millennium BC. The circular terracotta with a deep image of a robed figure riding a large mythical animal with a dragon like neck. 2.5 x 0.5 inches. Rare and nice. A unique piece worthy of further study.

7847. SUPERB EARLY INDIAN WOOD BLOCK, c. 16th/17th century. 5 x 2 x 3.25 inches. Superbly carved with a multitude of minute characters within geometric design. Absolutely amazing precise detail for any carving in wood. Museum quality example. Excellent condition with a few minute flakes and very rare.

TIBETAN ART

7546. HANDMADE TIBETAN SILVER AND TURQUOISE BRACELET, c. 19th century. The large silver bracelet set with a large older turquoise bead. The whole with handworked birds and other designs. Said to have been made by the jeweler to the Tibetan royal family. 2.5".

Provenance: Purchased by the current owner in San Francisco in the early 60's from a recent visitor to Tibet.
