8331. AN IMPORTANT HAN DYNASTY LIFE-SIZED COURT GIRL, 207 BC - 220 AD. The heavy terracotta figure of a young girl standing respectfully in long court robes with her hands clasped before her, her hair bound up in braids. Considerable remains of polychrome overall under light ancient soil. The figure cast in two pieces. 37". A corner of base reattached. Such large figures are found in the tombs of important court officials or nobles. Extremely rare. $25,000 estimate.
